5 Reasons Why Foodies Will Love Wonderfruit Festival 2015
Returning from a successful inaugural edition last December, Wonderfruit Festival returns next month, promising a whole lot more.
This food and lifestyle festival takes place on 17th - 20th of December 2015 at The Fields at Siam Country Club, Pattaya (50 Moo 9, Bang Lamung, Chonburi), Thailand.
Wonderfruit is about bringing communities together in Thailand, to nurture collaborative, creative cultures and inspire celebration of the arts and the adventure of sustainable living.
Covering amazing gourmet delicacies, health and wellness activities, great music, the arts as well as activities and adventures, this lifestyle festival will also have informative talks and workshops for all visitors and festival-goers alike.
1. One of its main pillars, Farm To Feasts, explores creative agriculture with a more self-sufficient and natural way of living.
Working together with Thailand Young Farmers, the festival will boast a fully functioning farm and farmer’s shed to see crops including asparagus, mushrooms, mulberries, salad leaves, herbs, pumpkins and melons. Also watch farmers and chefs forage and cook on site. Visitors can learn about how food is grown; get their hands a little dirty and harvest something fresh for themselves; join in with kids’ activities or just relax and enjoy an organic picnic with a scenic view.
2. It’s literally farm to table.
Produce from the farm will be freshly foraged by star chefs from around the region and used in this year's Wonderfruit Feasts. Sample their delights and indulge in a unique communal dining experience under the shady sails of the Theatre of Feasts.
3. Experience Chef Gaggan’s cuisine, whose restaurant ranks #1 in San Pellegrino’s List of Asia’s Best Restaurants.
Highly acclaimed Chef Gaggan is known for his progressive Indian cuisine. Inspired by regional flavours and childhood memories from his native Calcutta in India, he cooks with fresh, seasonal produce, deconstructed and presented in playful, artful ways. Diners are invited to travel back in time with him to an era before electric stoves and ovens as he cooks succulent morsels over a traditional Indian charcoal pit.
4. Drinking your veggies has never been this fun!
Broccoli Revolution will introduce delicious vegetarian and vegan cuisine, inspired by classic recipes from the Middle East, Mediterranean, South America and Indochina, Besides the usual vegetarian fare, they're also refreshing Wonderfruit guests with organic cold-pressed vegetable and fruit juice.
5. Gorge on home cooked Thai food at its best
For the nostalgic flavors of home-cooked rustic Thai food the way traditional families used to make it, these delicacies are available at The Knack Market, bringing the coveted recipes of The Never Ending Summer to the Wonderfruit field.
