Directions

Preheat oven to 180°c
Sieve flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl.
Cream bicarbonate soda, ginger powder, shortening and castor sugar for 4 minutes.
Add egg and continue beating for ½ minute.
Add molasses syrup and grated ginger. Continue beating for 1 minute.
Fold in dry ingredients from before to form a soft dough.
Drop dough by a teaspoon onto a greased baking tray. Bake in oven at 180°C for 15 – 20 minutes.
