Quick, tasty and easy to make. Fresh mussels cooked in white wine is a mouth-watering dish perfect as an appetiser or main meal.

Ingredients

Butter

Onion
, finely chopped

Celery

Ginger
, julienned

White Wine

cup
Coriander
, roughly chopped
Salt and Black Pepper
, to taste

Directions

Wash and scrub mussels well and run them under cold water to properly clean them.
Melt the butter in a large sauce pot, stir in the onions, celery and ginger until soft.
Add mussels, stir well, season with salt and pour in wine. Allow it to boil with the lid for about 2 minutes.
Add coriander, pepper, salt and give it a good mix. Simmer with the lid until shells open.
Give it a good stir and serve immediately with coriander as a garnish.
The French love to eat this with French fries but a nice bowl of steamed rice is really good too!
